Polished gold for professional

In the blog "QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS about Jewelry and Graduation Rings" we have found a great (and useful) article about the domestic polished of our gold jewels. Learn simple tricks to polish metal jewelry of gold with this document.

The effect of an opaque piece of gold can be for two reasons:

    * By having a layer of impurities that "pop" the polished surface of the piece.

    * Also for micro-scratch that form on the surface and "kill" the brilliance of the piece.

If the case is the first you must remove these impurities:

   * The ideal is to take your jewels to a Jeweller Specialized because he will make a professional review from piece to check fasteners, wear and tear and mounted stones and status thereof.

    * You can buy a liquid (usually blue) containing special acids and graduates to remove impurities and polish the surface.

But if you want to do at home, you must follow these tips:

Tools for domestic polished1. Check that you have no loose stones or broken hooks. If it's so, you must take it for repair, the cleaning will be included.

2. Heat water to a boil and remove from heat.

3. added liquid dish soap (washing up) and dip the piece for about 5 minutes.

4. Brush with a soft bristle toothbrush looking corners and bends.

5. Rinse and dry with a hair dryer or a clean cloth or dry cotton flannel.

If the piece does not regain its original sheen may be for micro-scratch in the area that ended with the luster of the piece. The brightness may come soon so you must be patient. If possible, you should buy or get a Flannel Ready (these are sold in jewelry stores) because they have the perfect polish to polish the pieces at home comfortably.

CAUTION! do not use abrasives such as "Brasso" or carbonate toothpaste or powder, for although the immediate results are striking, they can create micro-scratchs in part and cause the glow lasts less.
We insist the best advice I can give you is that you go to a jewelry workshop that give prestige to maintain the piece because it would be professional cleaning, polishing would be appropriate and verify the hooks so it will not break easily.

Store your jewelry separately to avoid scratching each other.
