Carmen Pintor belongs to that special group of designers who print their soul in the metal. The jewels of the artist have a unique and unusual expressiveness. The textures of metal and gemstones are carefully selected to create a balanced and elegant image.
In jewelry by Carmen Pintor, gold and stones melt like one. A different and natural dialogue between the materials. See for example, as the gold get to take the stone textures. And the variety of stone used, conventional size amethyst, tourmaline, diamond and nature-form cut for aquamarine and lapis; we see the appreciation of jewelry by the most intrinsic characteristics of the stone. Carmen Pintor is representative of the new generation of designers, goldsmiths of Barcelona. She is qualified in embossed metal, enamel firing, jewelry, industrial jewelry design, modeling wax and gemology. She has her own gallery-workshop since 1990, Galeria Meko Joyería de Autor, where she creates and performs her own collections of jewelry and metalwork. She does commissions and collaborates with several industrial firms as a designer and prototypist. In her gallery she reserves a space, the Aparador de la Diversidad, where she showcases the work of other national and international contemporary jewelers for over 20 years with the idea of promoting the knowledge of the author and contemporary jewelry in the city of Barcelona. She has received the 2002 honorary degree of "Master Craftsman" by the Generalitat de Catalunya. Between 1987 and 2005 she exhibited her works in several Spanish cities and abroad: France, Andorra, Japan, Germany and Switzerland. And in 2010 she was awarded the "Premio Artesano 2010" by JORG (College of Jewelers and Goldsmiths de Catalunya). Note: information and photos have been kindly ceded by the firm.
