Alina's life is rich because she feeds it with beautiful memories, desires and creative freedom that her jewels reflected in every detail. The metal acquires mobility in every gesture, is a pleasure to behold and a real treat for the senses.
Alina was born in a fishing village (Caibarién) in Cuba but now she lives in Mar de Plata. The influence of the sea with its mesmerizing white foam, the sharp smell of salt air and the rustling of the tides has shaped her character by giving it a creative freedom only to the height of the lien that are left by the magic of wild nature. 16 years ago she was invited to exhibit her sculptures in the House Gallery Madera. There she found a second home where she could teach sculpture and exhibit her work. She seized the moment and decided to study jewelry. Over time she has been able to start her own workshop where research techniques and ethnic contemporary jewelry that she has available and then be able to explain in classes, seminars and apply them to her own work. She already has a book published (jewelry techniques and architect, 2006) and she does not preclude publication of other volumes related to her work and experience. "My work is closely related to sculpture, nature and romance. The sea is nostalgia for me when I work and this year was slightly more pronounced remembering when my father took me fishing and let me at some point in the shore because I was a bit unruly, with the excuse that only I could find the treasures that the tide had left in the sand .... I keep the habit of looking for treasure on shore." Alina presents her new collection "Lo que trajo la marea" where the metal is twisted freely as if life itself, the sound of a natural pace intense, with an overwhelming expression: "This collection was presented at the Museum Villa Victoria de Mar del Plata last September 9, unique pieces made using the lost wax coatings, textile metal, stone setting and other materials that are products of sea: pearls, corals and snails in the wild. " The Cuban designer works are worthy of admiration, rich textures, and Alina is defined on them with the best possible qualities as an artisan: the illusion.
