Mercedes Raigada is an expert designer with an impeccable professional career full of achievements. Step by step, the designer has achieved everything she proposed, without neglecting her training and growing as a person through her pieces.
The proffesional career of Mercedes Raigada is as intense as the visual strength of her jewels. When she was young, she went to California to study English with the intention of studing publicity subsequently, however, the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) appeared in her life and then began her passion for a profession that has not stopped give her moments of satisfaction, althought with sacrifices included. Mercedes studied in the HRD (Hoge Raad Voor Diamant) in Antwerp, Le Orafi Art in Florence, Gremio de Joyeros in Madrid, etc ... her training has covered all areas related to the design and gemology. And of course, her high level of education has provided her a broad curriculum and prestigious references in laboral's world (not only as designer but as a teacher in the sector). Her latest project is the creation of a wholesale silver jewelry company, Dejavu Joyas with its trademark Nuvoo (see related article) where you can find her in pure state with a style very clean, textures carefully choosed and the use of unconventional stones. But before that, the designer (with her sister Natalia) had created the art and jewelry gallery Nim Art Gallery, she was founder of the Escuela Internacional de Joyería, Gemología y Tasaciones and AETA (Asociación Española de Tasadores de Alhajas) in Madrid. She taught courses too in the Federación de Empresarios of Toledo, Xunta de Galicia or Centro Europeo de Gemología y Joyería of Madrid, among others. Mercedes has made a continuous training and she has tried to do everything she likes. In the world of jewelry design is not enough to get lucky, you must to be persistent, restless and enterprising, qualities that Mercedes has because she loves her profession, and this love is reflected in her jewelry. Many of us, as her ex-students, we have to thank Mercedes the understanding what is truly the design; the creation of jewelry born of the knowing respecting the nature of the materials, the customer's needs and budget previously submitted. All thanks to the ability of Mercedes Raigada to convey her passion for a job as rewarding and beautiful as the jewelry design. Note: photos and info have been kindly ceded by Mercedes Raigada.
