Hand painted scarf

Tejedor Raquel strokes on silk reflect her passion, enthusiasm, and a total commitment to the artistic work that has become her profession. In this work she has put all his effort and created La Higuera Seda, a place where you can buy unique scarves and ties, all painted by hand.

The ethnic and color burst are the focus of artisanal creations of Rachel Weaver, an artisan who started ten years ago as an autodidact in the world of crafts.

Raquel eventually found that the intensity with which she was engaged in experimenting with new techniques and materials, it was impossible to combine this with other things. Thus was born La Higuera de Seda.

In her own words, Rachel Weaver tells her adventure:

"About three years ago, I decided to quit my job and devote myself entirely to the craft: I discovered silk painting through a correspondence course in crafts and I fell in love from the beginning, so I make it my main job (I can draw and design, which I make long since). Is a very grateful material but must be treated with care, and is wonderful as to spread the dye on silk, captivating. It is also a job quickly and leaves very little margin for error, making it challenging to subsequent satisfaction upon completion of a piece. Anyway, I love it."

But Rachel also works part-mache, mosaics, oil painting, watercolor ... Renaissance character forces her to try everything, to mix it impossible to obtain completely handmade exciting and unique creations.

On her website you can find scarves, ties and foulards but also objects of decoration, with the possibility to make orders. We recommend you take a look and discover the works of this enterprising woman.
