Could a house be self-sufficient, as to not depend on any external provider? It seems so, or at least that is what the architect Scott Specht defends in his zeroHouse project, a house that should be taken very seriously, and more today when our world has become a compendium of companies struggling (and make us fight) for the monopoly of the resources that remain.

Self-sufficient House Zero

ZeroHouse The house becomes a utopia envisioned by many in a reality that can enjoy those who can pay the $ 350,000 it costs (235,000 euros.) Its two hundred square meters include photovoltaic panels to generate electricity and batteries to store enough energy to cover all needs for a week.

The water is obtained through a rain collector with a capacity of ten thousand liters, distributed through the house taking advantage of gravity without any electrical pump. Roof, floor and walls are thermally insulated, and organic waste is processed to compost (manure).

Scott Specht, its creator, is confident his project will permeate society as a solution to the problems of today's distribution of basic supplies by multinationals. Furthermore, it is inevitable to pay homage to its balanced design, no superfluous trimmings. A house to live and living.

Its design leaves nothing to chance. Practical and beautiful
