ArcelorMittal Orbit

The 2012 London Olympic Park has got its emblem, a new symbol touchable and enjoyable that begins to be known as "The Eiffel Tower in London".

Cloud Gate (2004) With no less than 120 meters high, the ArcelorMittal Orbit (named after Lakshmi Mittal, who will finance the work) will become the public artwork largest in the UK. With a weight of 1400 tons of red steel, a veranda and a cost of 21.4 million euros.

The sculptor Anish Kapoor, with an impressive career and a major in its field, will count on the engineer Cecil Balmond, another great on its field, to bring to reality this ambitious project. Its opening coincides obviously with the sporting event (Olympics 2012) from which it will become another tourist attraction.

London Mayor, Boris Johnson, is confident that not only that, but one day will become the symbol of the city, much as Big Ben or the famous London Eye. Far from anticipating this conclusion, we do believe we're talking about a building beautiful, enigmatic and will become a referent to many other upcoming projects.
