There are specialized books

Crochet is a technique that we all know by our grandmothers and mothers (especially if you have more than thirty years.) There was a time when it was very difficult, if not impossible, to get into a house and not finding crocheted rugs in sofas, desks, tables, televisions ...  anywhere possible
With crochet are made bedspreads, curtains, laces for towels, clothes, bags, hats ... and jewelry.

The technique, described in wikipedia, is simple and a matter of skill and patience more than anything else: "The hook is held with the right hand (or left if you're a lefty), between the thumb and index finger, and then you must put the thumb on the flat part of hook. The thread, passing over the left index finger, is held with the middle finger, ring and little fingers bent toward the palm of the hand.

To form the first point, you must hold the end of the thread between thumb and forefinger of his left hand, closing between the fingers and the palm, and form a kind of noose. Insert the hook from front to back.

Once formed the first point, keeping the hook horizontally, you must hook the thread that holds the left hand hook (this is called "lay stranded on the hook"), and remove it through the ring on the hook, getting a new ring.
Once terminated the last point of the work, you must pull of the ring that is on the hook and cut it. Spend the remaining thread, passing between points to the last. "

The crochet thread is available in many colors and thicknesses thus allowing for greater creative freedom. In addition, as an alternative you can use silver wire, copper wire or normal (but thin) obtaining parts amazing, delicate and original.
