Convert headphones, autumn leaves or chickpeas in jewels is a job that requires skill but also imaginative and creative sensibilities. In Soledad and Company you can find works of art whose origin is the least expected.

"Soledad and Company is the name that has all the creations of Soledad Raboso, psychologist and designer based in Madrid.

My studies at the Toledo School for the Arts helped me learn different materials and working techniques, something that interested me greatly. Since I were young I like design jewelry and accessories and even I done my own clothes. The art world has long fascinated me.

Then I started experimenting with other less conventional materials and that was when I entered the world of recycling. My idea is to give new life to everyday objects and using materials that are usually considered useless or waste. So a couple of chickpeas become elegant earrings, necklaces autumn leaves, headphones that no longer work in a Chinese knot of fate, computer parts become recycled brooches  ... the possibilities of recycling are endless."

"Since energy is neither created nor destroyed but is transformed, the recycling can give new life and new uses for things. Again and again we can work with the materials and turn them into different objects by changing the original use for which they were designed and enhancing its beauty. Thanks to this technique are achieved surprising results.

I am currently working on this line, but also I combine it with the design of interiors and on teaching for children and adults about recycling. In the world of artistic recycling there are more and more interested people."
