Mark Sanfilippo is a jewelry artist one day he decided to leave his paintbrush to pursue jewelry design. Seeing the result no one would say he is in the sector since 2007. Delicate and very personal pieces define their two main collections. The first line of jewelry that Mark Sanfilippo launched to the market was "Messengers", in 2008, a year after he decided to change careers. Taking the step from painter to jeweller must not have been easy, but looking at his pieces, it seems quite the opposite.
City Lights was the collection presented for 2009/2010, a tribute to Art Deco era in which the author feels real fascination. The jewels become little praise to the golden era of the great architectural achievements, especially those that defined the city of New York in the thirties. Mark Sanfilippo is a newcomer jeweler, but the jewels have already been reflected in publications such as Marie Claire in the Australian version, the artist's country of origin.
