Mariatresgatos is the identity that the designer María Cecilia Gómez Betancur assumes each time she starts working. From this work, is born a unique type of jewelry with beautiful jewels and as real as textures that inspire them.

María Cecilia loves to take little bits of reality and turn them into jewelry, so she perpetuates its existence while offering the user a type of jewelry evocative, very striking for its originality with substantial technical work.

Lemons, pepper, coral, flowers ... anything for its beauty draws attention to the artist will become a jewel Mariatresgatos.

In words of artist: "The textures are a big part of my job that I copy from my platecolography (printed collage, engraving family) built with scrap materials, or the nature that I do not want to represent, but I want to present. With them I want to connect the visual and tactile, like Braille, translated into a language where the vision is regained. "

"I use metals such as silver, gold, bronze and copper, stone and various materials with which I experience as acrylics, resins, polymers, yarn, leather, neoprene, acrylic paint, patinas, vegetable fibers, wool, and conjugates with different techniques such as casting or lost wax and assembly."

María Cecilia Gómez Betancur creates all her projects by studying the organic details of the items that she choses as models. 

The texturing is perfect, the colors appear in subtle way to give the right color touch, without being strident or baroque, all with a well-studied equilibrium.
