The childhood memories, the tender yearnings of a girl who knew the craft of hand of his maternal grandmother, are the backbone of the pieces of Lorenika Closet. The yearning fills the designs and inevitably takes us to a world of beautiful and sweet intentions.

Heading Lorenika Closet is Lorena, one argentinian based in Spain, with a very strong traditional vocation. She had it when she was a child but had to give away for a while. A labor problem made her consider the fact that maybe she could try to live thanks to that the hobby he had abandoned. Thus began the history of Lorenika Closet.

The designer wanted to have clear guidelines which would be her project before embarking on the adventure. Having decided on his line of design and objectives, Lorena got in touch with other professionals and get contact shops for exhibiting and selling their parts. The first to give it a try were Ad-Hoc (Madrid) and Itta-Boutique (Mataró). Today he works with more of twelve stores and these will be more.

How says Lorena:

"My work is always inspired by images that evoke a bygone era, dreams, fantasies, with birds, flowers ... images that tend to remember canned biscuits and grandmothers, who have that romantic air that I like both.

When I obtain the images I think how to use them, which would be better in necklaces, bracelets and rings, and then start thinking about materials, media, colors, stones, shapes, charms, etc., that can accompany them. I make a collection every season, which usually consists of necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings.

I like to experiment with different materials so what I'm preparing for this spring is something I have not worked ever, but I'm happy with the results that I see. If when I see a finished piece it don't produced me tickle in the stomach then I am not happy. If it doesn't happen, I don't stop to achieve it. If a piece don't like me I think this piece couldn't like to others.

My head does not stop. I usually have many ideas that I jot down in a notebook because if not then I forget these. As I like my work a lot, I not stop thinking and thinking, always improving, to differentiate me to others."

This September, Lorenika Closet will launch a new collection. It can be viewed on her blog.
