Nancy Santander, designer of El Taller de Violeta, can be quiet: she has achieved a unique, differentiated and almost spontaneous elegance. Her interest in experimentation with materials and techniques has become her in a true artisan. It is she who designs and who made the pieces by hand on each one putting all his heart.

The result is spectacular, balanced, beautiful ... Small imagined fables and stories that are packed in unique pieces, a whole desplieque of imagination that will delight those who wear them.

Nancy Santander explains the history of your project:

"El Taller de Violeta is a delightful blend of creative design, crafted by hand, with a broad and unique range of items. Today I present the supplements, my great workhorse.

Inspire me in everything that moves: places, people, moments ... I have a keen sense of intuition that leads me wanting to pick up valuable information that I put on my board notes... My loved board notes! It is witness of papers and materials that I hang as if they were decorations.
Each collection comes with my handmade illustrations, a personal touch for my accesories.

Topics I prefer: small girls, Teddy Bears, cats, puppies l (whom I adore and I try to humanize them with dresses, headdresses and jewelry). But I do not discount to illustrate other subjects, provided that excite me.

The materials are my passion. They are the ones, that with its forms and colors, begin to give life to a new collection.
I prefer the tapes and lace fabrics, tulle, velvet, silk ribbons, flowers of any kind if they are elegant, vichy ribbon, tape a pois ... undefined fabrics but with appeared clean.

The filigree play an important role in the development of exquisite necklaces, brooches and bracelets, and so the chains of all kinds (but is better with small links), colors nikel, silver, black nikel. I get most of pieces from outside and mix it all together for creating special accesories. And certainly, I can not forget Cultra pearls, black and smoked so elegantly.

For my illustrations I use the mythical color pencils which I can not stop using although technology offers us desirable programs for design. I'm an illustrator that I can live into the world of paper and pencil. I still find the illusion of each stroke to make my drawings.

For the development of necklaces, brooches, bracelets, earrings I use everything I learned at a prestigious Florentine artisan company during several years, leaving me great knowledge that I apply daily in my work.
And so, all this accumulated knowledge has come through me to experiment, make mistakes... I'm interested in everything that catches my eye .... so I created a unique style, my own style.

I try to develop accesories very different of the offered by supermarkets, offering the buyer something unique or limited, artwork, with that special something that accompanies each of my pieces ... it is love for art.

New for this Autumn-Winter 2010 - 2011 in addition to my new artwork, I added fabrics with motifs exquisitely decorated in brooches, tiaras, necklaces ... Romantic and Victorian touches, a little twist in composition but with the seal that identifies me.
